Broward Medical Center
Broward Medical Center needed AV technology that staff could rely on immediately, regardless of room type
When Broward Medical Center began its latest expansion, the goal was clear: deploy full AV functionality across new spaces while maintaining consistency with their existing infrastructure. Teer Audio Visual was brought in to design and integrate a system that would support collaboration, education, and simulation without adding complexity for staff.
The Goal: Scalable AV That Works the Same in Every Room
Broward Medical Center needed technology that staff could rely on immediately, regardless of room type. The expansion included conference rooms, divisible spaces, educational environments, and simulation labs, each with different use cases but the same core requirements.
The primary goals included:
In healthcare settings, ease of use is just as important as performance. If technology becomes a barrier, it will not be adopted. The system had to feel familiar, stable, and predictable for staff.
What We Did: A Unified Extron and Shure-Based AV Ecosystem
To support these goals, Teer Audio Visual designed a standardized AV framework built around Extron control and distribution paired with Shure professional audio and Vaddio camera systems. This approach allowed every room to function independently while remaining part of a larger, connected infrastructure.
Across conference rooms, educational spaces, and administrative areas, Extron touch panels provide a consistent control interface. Staff can walk into any room and immediately understand how to start a meeting, adjust audio, or share content.
Audio clarity was a major focus of the project. Shure ceiling microphones deliver natural voice pickup without cluttering tables or work surfaces. This is especially important in medical environments. In spaces that required flexibility, Shure wireless microphones allow presenters and instructors to move freely without sacrificing intelligibility. Extron ceiling speakers were deployed throughout the expansion to provide even coverage and consistent sound levels across each room.
Video was handled with a combination of professional displays and Vaddio cameras, enabling high-quality video recording and remote instruction. In divisible rooms, the AV system adapts automatically based on room configuration, allowing spaces to function independently or as a combined environment without staff needing to manage technical changes.
Most importantly, the entire expansion was tied into Broward Medical Center’s AV infrastructure. This ensured long-term scalability, consistent maintenance, and a unified technology standard across the facility.
