The Role of the Mascotte Civic Center in the Community

The Mascotte Civic Center accommodates everything from city-organized activities like Zumba classes, budget workshops, and job fairs to private rentals for family reunions, birthday parties, and celebrations. It also supports government meetings, youth programs, senior workshops, and large-scale community events like the city’s annual Cinco de Mayo celebration. With a capacity of up to 285 people and an adjacent park with a playground, the center needed an audio system that could adapt to diverse use cases..
 

The Challenge: Outdated AV Holding the Space Back

The previous system featured aging ceiling speakers and limited microphone capabilities that didn’t provide the clarity or flexibility needed for today’s events. The city reported issues with feedback, uneven coverage, and tech that was difficult to operate. We were tasked with removing and replacing the entire system to minimize downtime and get the space back into service.

• JBL Control 16 Ceiling Speakers: Strategically placed for even sound coverage while avoiding mic feedback. Delivering clear, balanced audio for both speech and music.
• Sennheiser MEG Gooseneck Microphones + EW-DX Wireless System: Ideal for flexible speech capture, public comments, and panel discussions. The EW-DX rackmount receiver and CHG charging base ensure seamless operation and easy maintenance.
• QSC SPA-QF 60x2 Amplifier + QSC Core 8 Flex DSP: For smart, efficient audio processing and amplification. Perfect for spaces with varied acoustic demands.
• Tascam SS-R250N Solid-State Recorder: For high-quality audio recording of public meetings, workshops, and events. Useful for both archiving and transparency.
• Netgear GSM4212 & WAX210: Enterprise-grade networking gear to ensure rock-solid system connectivity, wireless mic performance, and future scalability.

The entire system was designed to be simple to control, robust enough to handle different types of events, and easy to support long-term.
