The United States Tennis Association has created a new home for tennis in Florida at Lake Nona. A state-of-the-art facility with 100 courts houses the USTA Community Tennis and Player Development divisions as well as the University of Central Florida's tennis teams. The facility is divided up so that every player, regardless of experience, has a designated area specifically for their skill level. The new facility is state of the art and will allow the USTA to deliver tennis events like never seen before. This new facility sets the precedent for the broadcasting and technology associated with the sport.
Our involvement with the USTA came in the form of Audio work. We were tasked with the project of creating a background and foreground music system for inside the onsite cafe as well as both of the outdoor patios at the facility. We installed a series of pendant speakers and outdoor rated surface mounted speakers. The speaker systems were driven by QSC QSYS audio processors and QLAN enabled amplifiers. Q-SYS is a software-based platform built around an open IT-friendly ecosystem. SYS offers audio, video and control features at the software level. Currently, we are working with the USTA to upgrade their existing systems to incorporate a master audio control system to tie this system, as well as other existing systems on the complex, together.
If was great being able to be a part of a project so big, and one that will impact the Orlando community. At Teer, we take every project as a new challenge and look forward to working on other major projects in the greater Orlando area.
